Dr. Lanning - Morris Community High School
Social Studies Department Philosophy:
It is the mission of the Social Sciences Department of Morris Community High School to encourage the growth of citizenship and connect historical content to student's lives through the critical examination and interpretation of political, economic, geographic, social, and moral events, both past and present.
Personal Teaching Philosophy:
I believe a school should be centered around the principles of empowerment, encouragement, excellence, and fairness while committed to developing the talents of my students.
Homework Philosophy:
MCHS believes in the value of purposeful homework used to help students develop independent work habits, and when used to offer students quality opportunities for positive practice, review, and mastery of the skills necessary to succeed. Students should attempt to develop positive study habits by working diligently, seeking help when needed, communicating with the teacher often, and learning to manage their own time effectively.
